Who we are

WineIQ is a personal wine cellar tracker. When you create an account, scan a label, or rate a wine, we store that information to deliver the app's core functionality.

What we collect

Account data: email address, username, hashed password, signup IP (hashed).
Cellar data: the wines you add, your ratings, drinking history, and personal notes.
Label photos: images you upload of wine labels for AI extraction.
Usage telemetry: server logs (request timing, error traces). No third-party advertising trackers.

How your data is processed

Label images and wine details may be sent to OpenAI's API to extract structured fields (producer, vintage, varietal) and to generate enrichment text. OpenAI is contractually prohibited from training on data sent via the API; see OpenAI's API data policy for details.

Your rights

You can export your data as JSON at any time from the iOS app or via GET /api/v1/me/export/.
You can delete your account at /accounts/delete/. Anonymization is immediate; permanent deletion happens after a 30-day grace window.

Children

WineIQ is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 17.
